Colonnade, Oasis and the Main Mall
Sawgrass Mills is too big to wander. The center in Sunrise opened in 1990 on the edge of the Everglades and runs to more than 2.4 million square feet; Simon, which owns it, bills it as the largest outlet and value retail destination in the United States and counts more than 320 stores and restaurants. Trying to see all of it in one visit is a mistake. The better approach is to decide which of its three parts you came for, do that first, and treat the rest as optional.
The Three Parts
The Colonnade Outlets is the open-air luxury wing, with about 70 luxury brand outlets: Gucci, Prada, Saint Laurent, Fendi, Loro Piana, Brunello Cucinelli and the off-price department stores. If you are driving down from Miami for designer markdowns, this is the trip.
The main mall is the enclosed, air-conditioned loop, with factory stores, off-price chains, two food courts (the West and East Dining Pavilions) and big-box tenants such as Primark at the east end.
The Oasis is the open-air section anchored by Nordstrom Rack, the Nike and Polo Ralph Lauren factory stores, Regal Cinemas & IMAX and a cluster of sit-down restaurants, including The Cheesecake Factory.
The Colonnade: Where to Spend the Morning
Start here, while you have energy. The Italian houses are the main draw: Gucci, Prada, Fendi, Valentino, Versace and Dolce & Gabbana all run outlets in the wing, along with Saint Laurent and Balenciaga. For quieter labels, Loro Piana (cashmere, vicuña-blend knits, suede loafers), Brunello Cucinelli and ZEGNA (men's suiting and Triple Stitch sneakers) are the stores most worth the drive for anyone who already knows the labels. Simon's own list for the wing also includes Ferragamo and Tory Burch.
Shoes and accessories are well covered: Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and Tod's for Gommino driving loafers. Moncler for down jackets and Burberry Factory Outlet for trench coats and check scarves make sense for anyone buying cold-weather clothes in Florida for a trip north. David Yurman has an outlet here for cable bracelets and men's jewelry.
Two stores reward patience. Saks OFF 5TH and Bloomingdale's - The Outlet Store mix designer and contemporary labels at markdowns; give each a full lap rather than a quick look. Rebag is different: a pre-owned luxury handbag reseller that buys, sells and trades Hermès, Chanel and Louis Vuitton, so bring a bag you no longer carry if you want to trade. For the kitchen, Le Creuset has an outlet for enameled cast-iron Dutch ovens.
The Oasis and the Main Mall
After lunch, move to The Oasis. Nordstrom Rack is the anchor, Nike Factory Store covers sneakers, running and training gear, and the Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store has polos, oxfords and knitwear, with a separate children's store nearby.
Inside the main mall, pick targets rather than walking the loop. Primark sells low-priced basics, home and beauty near the East Dining Pavilion, and the adidas Outlet Store is by the East Entrance. If someone in your group is done shopping, Regal Cinemas & IMAX in The Oasis is the place to leave them.
A One-Day Plan
10am: Park at the Colonnade end and work through the luxury outlets on your list, stores you know first. 12:30pm: Lunch in the Colonnade at Seasons 52 or La Doña. 2pm: Move to The Oasis for Nordstrom Rack, Nike and Polo Ralph Lauren. 4pm: Enter the main mall only for specific stores, such as Primark or adidas, then head for the car. Use the Simon mobile app for store directories and maps, since the main loop is easy to lose your bearings in.
Where to Eat
The two food courts are fine for speed. For a proper lunch near the luxury stores, Seasons 52 (1862 Sawgrass Mills Cir) is a seasonal grill in the Colonnade, and La Doña Seafood & Grill (1800 Sawgrass Mills Cir, Suite 2460), chef James Tahhan's Mexican seafood house near Bloomingdale's, does tableside guacamole and lobster tacos. To end the day in The Oasis, Texas de Brazil (2606 Sawgrass Mills Cir) carves skewered meats tableside.
Hours, Transport and Parking
When to Go
Regular hours are Monday to Saturday 10am to 9pm and Sunday 11am to 8pm. Arrive at opening on a weekday and do the Colonnade first. Holiday hours run longer: Simon lists the center closed on Thanksgiving (November 26, 2026), open 6am to 10pm on Black Friday, 10am to 10pm from December 11 to 23, 9am to 6pm on Christmas Eve, and closed on Christmas Day. Individual store hours can differ from the center's.
Getting There from Miami
The address is 12801 W Sunrise Blvd, Sunrise, FL 33323. Most visitors drive. Without a car, Simon lists the 595 Express bus (Route 110) from Miami and Brickell during weekday peak hours, and Broward County Transit routes 22, 23, 36 and 72, which stop at the West Dining Pavilion. Tri-Rail and Brightline riders can connect to Route 22 from the Fort Lauderdale station. There is a rideshare pick-up and drop-off zone, and Simon lists Distinction Travel for shuttle transfers from Greater Miami and Miami Beach.
Parking and Valet
Open parking runs around the perimeter, with two garages: one between Super Target and Burlington, and one near The Colonnade Outlets. Park at the Colonnade end if luxury is the priority. Valet stations are at The Colonnade Outlets, The Orange Garage and The Oasis, at $13 Monday through Thursday and $15 Friday through Sunday and holidays. Colonnade valet runs Monday to Saturday, 11am to 9pm.
Before You Shop
Stop at Simon Guest Services, across from Burlington near the East Entrance, for a coupon book; tourism program check-in is there too. Simon's loyalty program, Simon+, offers cash back and member offers if you shop Simon centers often. International visitors will find Currency Exchange International near adidas at the East Entrance. Lockers are at the east end by Primark and Homesense, and shopping carts and strollers can be rented if you plan a big haul.
